Fulham turned down chance to sign Antoine Griezmann and went for a disastrous alternative

Antoine Griezmann is a candidate of winning Ballon D’or now after a great season with Atletico Madrid and his national team France.
The 25 years old striker helped Los Colchoneros arrive at Champions League final where they lost against Real Madrid on penalties, and right now they’re in the final of EURO 2016 against Portugal.
Griezmann is now wanted by most big European clubs , but back on Janaury 2012 during his time at Real Sociedad , he was not prefered by Fulham – Premier League club that time, as they were fighting the relegation battle.
Fulham approached the Spanish club for Antoine Grizmann and they asked £12 million for the French striker. Anyway, Fulham decided to spend those money on another striker – Kostas Mitroglou. The Greek forward arrived from Olympiakos but he failed to impress the fans of the west London club.
Mitroglou managed to make only 1 start for Fulham and never scored a goal for the side that was relegated at the end of the season.
