Martin Skrtel is expected to complete his move to Turkish Superleague side Fenerbahce tomorrow.
Fenerbahce will pay £5.5million to Liverpool for the Slovakian defender, who is expected to undergo his medical tomorrow and sign the contract with the Turkish giants.
The 31-year-old admits that he is happy to join Fenerbahce. Skrtel rates the turkish team as top team, which is the main reason he accepted the offer.
“Fenerbahce is also a giant club, a great club. That’s why I accepted the offer.” said the Slovakian defender.
Skrtel hopes that everything will go fine and he will be a Fenerbahce player in the next 24 hours.
“I came here to make the last call. Hopefully tomorrow we can complete everything & I can be a Fenerbahce player.”
Despite renewing his contract last summer, Skrtel has decided to leave Anfield Road since he did not see much playing time under the new coach Jurgen Klopp.
Martin Skrtel has spent 8 years at Anfield Road , making 320 appearances and triumphing once on the League Cup in 2012.
