OFFICIAL : Sunderland sign Djilobodji from Chelsea

Sunderland have announced today the signing of Papy Djilobodji from Chelsea for a transfer fee reported at £8m.

Djilobodji becomes the first signing for David Moyes during his reign at Sunderland, as the Senegalese have signed a 4 years deal with the Black Cats.

The Centre back arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer from Nantes, but failed to impress. The Blues paid £2.7m for the Senegalese but he failed to make a single first team appearance.

Chelsea will receive a big profit from the 27 years old defender, who had a great loan spell at Werder Bremen last season. The Senegalese scored a goal in the 88th minute which helped the German team to avoid relegation.
