Borussia Dortmud vs Real Madrid Match preview & Possible lineups
- Updated: September 26, 2016
Match day two in the UEFA Champions League is around the corner set to happen on Tuesday 27th of September 2016. Among the amazing fixtures scheduled, Borusia Dotmud welcomes the defending Champions at Iduna Park at exactly 2145hrs EAT. Mark Clattenburg will be the man to ensure the happenings on the field follows the rules.
After the first fixture of the tournament, Dortmud secured an early lead courtesy of a massive goal difference. Tuchel’s men thrashed Legia massively when Gotze, Aubameyang, Guerreiro, Bartra and Socratis ensured six goals went on count. However, the defending Champions had to thank C Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata for securing their worth against a Sporting CP side. This ensured a joint at the top and kept their attempt to secure the big eared silverware alive.
Dortmund have been on form for a while. They have won four of their last five fixtures in a row. This is not enough to scare their opponents but considering the fact that they scored 20 goals in their last four outings is scary. They have only conceded thrice and this means Zinedine’s men have a task to prove their quality. Simply, these lads are red-hot and no one would wish to meet them in this state.
Real Madrid on the other side, HAD a great run. Los Blancos had a streak of 16 consecutive straight wins before experiencing two hard moments at La Liga registering draws. They haven’t displayed their quality upfront as only 12 goals have been celebrated. Cristiano has been struggling to sustain his shape and worth. Marcelo (who has been instrumental upfront) is out. Maybe something of his character is missing. But that shouldn’t be the reason for their fairly bad run. They are of a quality that should deliver. The have also allowed six goals and with the freely scoring Borussia, something must be improved.
In the recent five meetings, each side have won twice on their ground. Borusia once managed a 2-2 draw at Santiago Bernabou. This shows that both sides have the capability to do what they want. Both teams have the quality. The workings on the pitch determines the winner. My personality biases BVB for a win. My take though…….
Each side will have to field their best for a positive hope. On my view, Dotmud’s best men compromises the following. Burki to continue between the posts and a bar. Guerreiro, Solaratis, Lukasz and Castro can properly do something at their backline. Dembele, Pulisic, Marcel, Gotze and Weigl to try at their mid to favour their main formation. Aubameyang will have to start at role nine. Take note on the mistakes by their opponents and capitalise on them. Most importantly, they will have to dominate the midfield in order to finish victors.
Real Madrid have a strong squod. Casilla have been starting ahead of Navas and a change is not expected. Pepe, Ramos, Cavajal and Verane have the balls stop anything approaching their area. Kross, James and Modric are good game controllers in such a huge encounter. Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale have the quality and experience on the pitch to do harm. Midfield is key to their success too.
