Tottenham vs Manchester City Match Preview & Team News
- Updated: September 30, 2016
After the midweek football, we all wait for some exciting league plays. The BPL will utilise the weekend doing their matches for probable table adjustments. Among the many actions, the most exciting piece of art is set to happen on Sunday 2nd October 2016 in a smart White Hart Lane between Spurs and the Citizens. The 90+ minutes spell will start at exactly 1615hrs EAT.
The two sides have started really well as they both proved to be unbeatable in the PL this season in all their outings. This haven’t just happened, they both faced oppositions but proved stronger. It’s a toil which proves they are best in the league so far.
History leaves a smile on faces of the lads in which. It’s a bit disturbing when the noisy neighbours looks at it. It looks as if Tottenham loves hammering Manchester City. Among the 38 meetings between the two sides in the PL, Tottenham managed 22 wins. If a win happens, they will have hammered this Manchester giant more frequently than anyone else in the league. Last season Manchester had a back to back humiliation in the league. However, the white Londoners were in good shape while the Manchester side had a horrible season. Things are changed from what we’ve been witnessing.
Manchester City have neither drew nor lost a league game this season. This have given them a legal right to sit on top of the table. It’s great. Seems as if Pep have induced something in these lads. In fact, if the Citizens claims a win, Pep becomes the first manager to win seven times consecutively in a debut. Tottenham have claimed a second position courtesy of two draws along the way. It’s not a bad start.
Each side have a great team. The defence members available in Gudiola’s list have done a number of games and things are not working very well for them. This is their weakest department. Thanks to a fully performing upfront departments. They would also be working on some measures to avoid relegation. If Tottenham decides to make some dangerous runs, Claudio will have to fetch severally. They will also dearly miss an injured KDB and a suspended Nolito. Spurs have been coordinating properly in all the departments and the Manchester side will probably toil to get a result. Son has taken up everything and a fear factor shouldn’t be pulled out.
It’s a great fixture as mentioned earlier. In addition to the three points to be earned, records are to be set by both sides. This is the fixture that a manager have all the reasons to field the best. Manchester City have no goalkeeping choice. Bravo is undoubtedly the best despite some awful mistakes. Their centre back too has no choices, it’s Stones and Otamendi and nothing remains even in their stores. Fullbacks are plenty, but the best be Clichy and Sagna to cater for a dangerous offensive opponent. Either Fernandinho or Fernando can start to cancel Wanyama’s dominance. Ikay and Silva are better positioned behind Kun while Navas and Sterling mans their wings. Lloris is the best option to stop on targets. Davis and Walker are good defensively and offensively. Alderweild and Vertonghen are the only men of Aguero’s size. Wanyama has no competitor but Eriksen and Ali to work in front of him. Son and Lamela have the balls to man their wings allowing Jansen to play in the box.
My strange feeling favours the Citizens though.
