Premier League Predictions : Week 11

West Ham v Liverpool-

The Hammers will have been gutted by last week’s draw against Crystal Palace as they were clearly the better side, but they were made to pay for not putting all their chances away, and they will want to atone for that against a Liverpool side that came to life in the second half of their game against Huddersfield and absolutely blitzed the Terriers.

The Hammers have finally started clicking into gear and that’s attributed to the fact that Javier Hernandez is starting to do what he does best; scoring goals, while the reds have a dynamic attack that can trouble some of the finest defenses around.

I’m going for a draw on this one as both sides have goals in them while their rear guards are extremely vulnerable, not to mention that this is a game that either managers will want to lose spa not to lose any more ground on the premier league table.

Prediction: 2-2

Tottenham v Crystal Palace-

Spurs atoned for conceding that late winner at Old Trafford with a splendid all round display in midweek against the reigning European champions Real Madrid, a result that saw them book their place in the knockout stage. Real Madrid looked out of their depth against a Spurs side that was compact, organized, disciplined and ruthless.

Standing in their way though will be a Crystal Palace team that will be looking to get a result of some sort so as to continue their revival, but as much as they valiantly fought back to get a draw against the Hammers last week, they still haven’t tightened up defensively, and that will be their undoing against a Spurs side that has plenty of goals in them so I will go for a home win.

Prediction: 3-0

Man City v Arsenal-

Pep Guardiola’s side is the only unbeaten team in the league so far, and they have simply been swatting aside any team that stands in their way, and with consummate ease I might add, and even though Napoli did push the league leaders hard, it was always a matter of when, not if, City would regain control of the game.

Arsenal, meanwhile, haven’t really gotten going in the league so far this season, and are yet to win an away game this season, and injuries to Shkodran Mustafi, Calum Chambers and Danny Welbeck haven’t helped either and I just feel that they have the right mentality to play a team of City’s caliber at the moment.

Earlier in the season they did surprise everyone by leaving Stamford Bridge with a point and a clean sheet, but City is a different kettle of fish altogether. Arsenal are extremely capable of springing a surprise and leaving the Etihad with all three points on Sunday, but in all honesty and fairness, I don’t see that happening, and as much as Arsenal will turn up for this game and make it a contest, I foresee another disappointing away trip for ArsenĂ© Wenger’s charges.

My heart says Arsenal, but my head says City.

Prediction: 2-1

Chelsea v Man United-

The Blues surprisingly labored to a 1-0 win at Bournemouth and that was largely due to their excessive wastefulness in front of goal, but they were absolutely annihilated by Roma in midweek, highlighting some cracks in the once seemingly impervious Chelsea armor, and Antonio Conte and his men will have to regroup, and fast, as Manchester United will be coming to town.

Jose Mourinho’s men will come into this game full of confidence after they left it late to beat Tottenham over the weekend, and successfully made it to the knockout rounds of the champions league courtesy of a 2-0 win over Benfica, and will be looking to add another win over on of their rivals to their resume.

This is one of those games that no manager will want to lose as defeat will simply dent their aspirations, so a draw is the most likely outcome of this one.

Prediction: 1-1

Everton v Watford-

The post Koeman era didn’t begin well, as the Toffees slumped to a 2-0 defeat at Leicester, and also crashed out of the Europa league after losing 3-0 to French side Olympique Lyonnaise, and they look like a side desperately short on confidence.

Watford on the other hand have confidence in abundance, but we’re undone by a solitary goal at home to Stoke, but that will not faze Marco Silva and his charges at all, as they have been immense all season and will be looking to get back to winning ways, and I tip them to do so as not only are they a team playing with confidence, but a team that is well organized and efficient while at it.

Prediction: 0-2
